Privacy policy

Online Map Tools has no accounts and collects as little as it can. This page lists everything it does collect. If the site adds analytics or advertising, this page must be updated first.

Information collected

Contact messages. If you use the contact form, the name, email address and message you submit are stored in Cloudflare KV so we can reply. Messages expire automatically after 90 days.

Basic technical logs. The site runs on Cloudflare Workers, and Cloudflare records standard request metadata (IP address, browser type, time of request) to keep the service secure and reliable.

Preferences. Your light/dark theme choice is stored in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.

Cookies and tracking

Online Map Tools sets no advertising or analytics cookies and does not sell or share data. The only client-side storage used is the theme preference mentioned above.

Third-party services

The site is hosted on Cloudflare's global network; requests to the site are subject to Cloudflare's own privacy practices. Some tools call public services directly from your browser: typed addresses go to the Photon geocoder (komoot), elevation and time zone lookups to Open-Meteo, driving routes to the FOSSGIS Valhalla server or the OSRM demo server, and map tiles come from OpenFreeMap. Those services see the coordinates or text the tool sends and your IP address. GPS positions and county, distance and radius lookups are computed in your browser and are not sent to Online Map Tools.

Data retention

Contact messages are the only data stored, and they are deleted automatically after 90 days. Everything else lives in your own browser.

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
